Comment: August 6,2017, a letter in the Guest Opinion section of The Spokesman Review news paper, Matt Nykiel
wrote an article "Avista needs to face up to costly coal reality". ln his presentation he states Avista's "fiscal
responsibility," is passing the buck to the next generation "to deal with the mistakes of this generation."
The article further states that Avista is far behind in its duties to the customer, and is always having its hand out for
more money. The CEO, with a salary in the upper millions has not performed well for his customers, or for Avista. I urge
you to read the above in the paper, and you will see that Avista does not deserve an increase from its customers. Mr.
Nykiel is a conservative associate with the ldaho Conservation League. Thank you for thinking of Avista's customers,
