Comment: I read the case and paged through the slide show. lt looks like this rate increase request is excessive.
I applaud Avista's efforts to 'get more green' - environmentally. But, lt would appear they have decided to 'get more
green'- monetarily as well.
Please reject the proposal at the values requested. Adjust them to something much more in line with 'inflation'.

Comment: My husband Al and I think the proposed rate increase by Avista Utilities is excessive and puts an undue
hardship on low income and fixed income people in our communities. AS OF THIS MONTH, many are already paying new
increases in both electric and gas....... a 5.6% increase next year and a 2.3% increase in 2019 for electric is too much as is
1.9% increase next year and 1,.9%in 2019 for gas. lncreases should only be allowed every few years and then only small
increases (2% or under). Everyone's property taxes have increased significantly this year and many people do not qualify
for property tax assistance.....When does the bleeding end?! Please do NOT allow these excessive increases that Avista is
requesting!

Comment: The proposed electric and gas increases are way too high and out of line for this economic time. Who is
getting these kind of wage increases? Social security is giving one third of this. CD interest if lucky is one half of this.

Comment: Regarding the increase in rates as Avista is proposing for the future. As I understand it, low-income
households will only be able to use their gas and/or electric appliances every other day if this rate raise is approved.
Heating their homes would be done by setting what furniture they have on fire in the middle of their living rooms. Once
that supply is gone--oh, well!
With every do-gooder out here trying to get food and clothing donated for low-income families (and it's a never-ending
plight) it seems to me that Avista would do its part in helping the poor-not taking from them.
We will always have the less fortunate amongst us. We should continuously think of them I

Comment: I am writing to express me concerns about the proposed gas and electric rate increases. I don't see how these
high increases are justified. We are on fixed income and this willjust lower our disposable income available for
necessities. Also, coming on the heels of the recent buyout by a foreign company is suspect. lsaw nothing in the news
about this pending buyout, review by the regulatory agencies, etc. Was it properly reviewed? ls it legal for a public utility
to be owned by a foreign company, especially by one with such a bad performance record? lt seems as though Ontario is
treating Avista as a cash cow for their problems. let the ldaho hicks bail them out, right?
