On June 9,2017,Avista Corporation filed an Application seeking authority to
increase the Company’s general rates for electric and natural gas service in Idaho.Avista
proposed a two-year rate plan that would increase annual electric billed revenues by $18.6
million (7.9%)on January 1,2018,and by $9.9 million (4,2%)on January 1,2019,and increase
in annual natural gas revenues by $3.5 million (5.7%)on January 1,2018,and by $2.1 million
(3.3%)on January 1,2019.
The Commission issued a Notice of Application and Notice of Intervention Deadline
and suspended the proposed effective date to January 1,2018.Order No.33808.Clearwater
Paper,Idaho Conservation League (ICL),Idaho Forest Group,and the Community Action
Partnership Association of Idaho (CAPAI)intervened as parties.Sierra Club also petitioned for
intervention,but Avista objected to intervention.The objection will be addressed in a later
Order.
With this Order,we adopt the proposed schedule,and schedule a technical hearing for
the parties to testify before the Commission.The Commission will schedule public
informational workshops,and a public hearing in a separate Order to be issued at a later date.
NOTICE OF SCHEDULING
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that,based on discussion and agreement between
the parties,the Commission adopts the following procedural schedule:
Settlement Conference September 15,2017
Staff/Intervenor Prefile Testimony October 24,2017
Company Rebuttal November 21,2017
Technical Hearing December 6,2017

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that all testimony and exhibits in this matter must
comport with the requirements of Rule 231 and 267 of the Commission’s Rules of Procedure.

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the parties have been directed to serve
discovery,testimony,and exhibits among themselves by electronic mail pursuant to Rule 63.

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that when filing discovery with the Commission,
the parties shall provide an original and three copies to the Commission Secretary.IDAPA
3 1.01.01.061.02.

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Commission will conduct a technical
hearing on FRIDAY,DECEMBER 6,2017,COMMENCING AT 9:30 A.M.(MST)IN THE
COMMISSION HEARING ROOM,472 WEST WASHINGTON,BOISE,IDAHO.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Commission also intends to schedule
public workshops in the Company’s service territory,and a public hearing for customers and
non-parties to testify before the Commission.The date,time,and location of the workshops and
public hearing will be detailed in a subsequent Order.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the record in this matter is available for
public inspection during regular business hours at the Commission offices.The record is
available on the Commission’s web site at www.puc.idaho.gov.Click on the “File Room”tab at
the top of the page,scroll down to and click on “Electric Cases,”and then click on Case No.
AVU-E-17-01,or “Gas Cases,”and click on Case No.AVU-G-17-01.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that all proceedings in this matter will be
conducted pursuant to the Commission’s Rules of Procedure,IDAPA 31.01.01.000,et seq.
ORDER
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Commission adopts the procedural schedule set
forth in the above Notice of Scheduling.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a technical hearing will commence in this matter
on Friday,December 6,2017,at 9:30 a.m.(MST)in the Commission Hearing Room.
