I read in the morning paper that Avista wants yet more rate increases.
Raising the electric and gas rates would help them to build more company owned infrastructure
according to the article. That is plain nonsense. No one has allowed me to raise rates to
my customers so I can expand. I ask you deny them any increase at thi~ time of economic
hardship and tell them to tighten their belts like everyone else. As
to the falsehood of low stream flow..? That is an outright lie! The Post Falls dam did not
close until July 5 which is more than a month later than normal. The Dam at Grand Coulee
spilled water for the first time since the third powerhouse was installed. This company is
out of control and needs to be reigned in. Check the horrendous amount they pay to their
CEO i S at ratepayer expense.
