To Whom It May Concern:
I oppose the proposed Avista Utilties rate increases. I do not believe that a public
utilty should raise rates when they are paying overgenerous bonuses and salaries
to employees. I am a Speech-Language Pathologist (with a Masters Degree) for a
public school district in Idaho and wil be taking a 12% reduction in salary and
benefits this upcoming school year. I am required to take this reduction in salary
and benefits and I find it impossible to support an Avista Utilties rate increase,
especially when excessive bonuses and salaries are being paid to Avista
employees. I think. in these tough economic times that rates should not increase
and Avista Utilities and their employees should be required to tighten their belts
like the rest of the citizens of Idaho. Furthermore, I believe it is unfair and
unethical that a public utilty is paying such extravagant bonuses and salaries to
employees. Please do not approve this rate increase. Thank you.
