The gas charge changes due to supply. The basic monthly charge should not increase. My income keeps going down. How can they just randomly increase the basic monthly charge over 50% with no regard to customers reduced incomes? I do hope you will consider carefully the purposed rate increase. While times might be di ficul t for Avista they are no less di ficul t for we customers. To increase our rates by 14% is more than many can bear. Who can we turn too, to give us a 14% pay increase? At a time when costs everywhere are rising the comsumer can not always be the one who bears the whole burden. I hope if an increase is approved it will not be more than 2 or 3 percent. No one in retirement or employment has a 13.1% increase in earnings- -or better yet- -14. 5% increase for the residential customer. Our income has not even regonized an increase enough to keep up with the cost of living- -how can the commission justify this increase for customers. Let the customers side of this--be seen clearly--before these rates increases prohibit the population from quiet enjoyment of thier home. We have wind farms close enough to generate all the power needed for our use. Selling for the highest bidder is not the naswer for our communities, here where we should enjoy the con=mforts at reasonable rates. We are over using our power available. Let those over using, to include the entire country--payfor the higher or highest rates. Please let me know if my comment is read by anyone- -or just passed off! !
