JULY 2, 2001 - 1:30 PM
In attendance were Commissioners Paul Kjellander, Marsha Smith, and Dennis Hansen.
Commissioner Kjellander called the meeting to order. He asked if there were any comments or questions about items 1-3 on the CONSENT AGENDA.
Commissioner Smith said she had a question about item 3. She said after reading all the materials provided, she questioned why Staff felt it necessary to put the matter out for comment, which would delay the request for another 14 days when Ricks College has been waiting since April for its new NNX and wants to have it up and running before fall.
Mr. Stutzman replied that it's a matter of cautiously covering bases to see if anyone has any concerns.
Commissioner Smith said the Commission should "throw caution to the wind" in this case and that she opposed Staff's recommendations regarding item 3. She made a motion to approve items 1 and 2, and stated that the Commission should do whatever it has to in order to get the NANPA to issue a central office NXX code for Ricks College in Rexburg.
A vote was taken on the motion and it carried unanimously.
There were no other items on the agenda and Commissioner Kjellander adjourned the meeting.
