They complain of no profit even though they make BILLIONS! Well I am complaining of no profit too because I, who is a single mother of two little children ages 6 months and 2 yrs old, and I, who is a full time college student, am not making a profit when I get my monthly utility bill from Avista and it is outrageous! What little money I have should be going to my children i s future not a 52 dollar utility bill even though I didn i t run any appliances and I always keep my lights off. I am against granting the adjustment based on current and historical market prices. Currently, October contracts are $7. 71/mBTU. This is comparable to $6.89/mBTU in October iøø6 and $7.44/mBTU in October iøø7. New discoveries will continue to push the futures prices down. Avista has gotten massive increases since market prices have dropped - except for last year. The company continues to use short-term market fluctuations as an excuse for rate hikes and the result is that iøø8 first half revenues have nearly doubled. .
