I am absolutely in opposition to any gas cost surcharge on my utility bill. I am a single
(working) mom of 2 kids with little financial assistance from the kids dad. With rising gas
prices, I have a very very tight budget and even $10/month increase on a utility bill hurts.
Times are tough.

It seems very strange that Avista Utilities has made huge profits this year and manages to
pay their corporate executives exorbinate salaries but is still requesting an increase
monthly surcharge on top of gas and electric rate increases ~ Citizens on fixed incomes are
finding it harder and harder to make ends meet. I seem to remember that Avista was granted a
rate increase last year which hit everyone pretty hard. How many more will they be granted?
