When we see our rates going up while Avista is making *Record Profits* which are passed on to stockholders, this is in antithesis to public interests. Why is profit funneled off to Corporate Avista while loss is covered by rate payers? If the public interest takes precedence, shouldn't profits be held in account to offset future losses, or shouldn i t rate payers see a decrease in the rates? I would ask our commission to investigate where company profits go, and question why they are not being dispersed in equal proportion to company rate payers. I would also ask the commission to inquire into whether those who are benefiting from company profits are being asked to bear company losses at the some reasonable level as do the rate payers. In my reasoning, Disparate levels of accountability are not in the public interest, and I feel that Avista should adjust it i S accounting system so that both profits and *losses* are fairly dispersed. I want to be clear that I know a certain amount of profit is reasonable, but *Record High Profits* for them while we shoulder ever increasing rates is a serious inequity. Diagnosing how this inequity has come to pass, and figuring out how it can be cured is well beyond my personal ability, however I would greatly appreciate some investigations by worthy parties on the commission or at the minimum, a refusal of increased rates until this has been rectified . So I conserve and Avista turns around and ask for rate increases. They should not talk out of both sides of their mouths. This is Socialism at its best. I can' t change companies so I am trapped. Avista doesn i t care about its costumers only their own pockets and the share holders. They bought gas at a higher rate- someone in the company wasn' t doing his or her job. Let' s get the more expensive and pass it on to the coustomer because we are held captives. If it looks like a duck and quacks like one, it is a duck. Commisioners, you are taking the easy way out because you are Politically appointed and some how who ever appointed you did so for the money and the politics. YOU, commissioners are never for the people of Idaho. This is hard times and this company needs to look at the bottom line and see where they can make cuts. All these meetings are a joke and I don't know who you think you are kidding. Some day you all will be held accountable for your inaction and dishonesty. I live in a small (under 1000 sq foot) home and yet pay the exact same rates as people living in the much larger homes (3000+ sq feet) that are becoming so prevalent. This inequity needs to be addressed now - prior to implementing any rate increases based on the existing unfair system. Thank you for considering my comments.
