I would like to register a complaint regarding the proposed rate increase by Avista on April
3, 2008. While I understand price increases have to occur, with all the other price
increases going on (the big one being gas prices and how that in turn affects the cost of
almost every other product and service), our wage increases in this · right to work' or as
most of us in the Silver Valley area call it the 'right to starve' State are not even coming
close to balancing out all these increases! How about just a little less profit for Avista
and these other companies that continually request rate increases (or) manditory minimum wage
increase every they receive approval? Because I know I sure don't get to pass off the rise in
cost of everything to anyone else. So, why do big profiting companies think that they should
get to?!

I oppose any and all energy increases by Avista. They over pay their executives and underpay
the average emploees. Large wastes of time and energy are constant. They have a gas fired
power plant on the Rathdrum Prairie and we have to pay for the gas that runs the plant and
the electricity that is oroduced is distributed to the common grid. This last increase was
mostly passed on to the residential con summer not the high load or extra usage comsummer.
I feel that we should get to comment a lot sooner than we did. This notice came with the last
billing from Avista.
