THE COMPANY ITSELF SAYS THAT THEY ARE IN THE PLUS, AND THE STOCKS ARE GREAT, HOWEVER, THEY ARE STILL ASKING FOR MORE INCREASES AND FEES. THESE CONTINUED RATE AND FEE INCREASES MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT AS A CONSUMER TO MAINTAIN A HOME. ALL UTILITIES, INCLUDING WATER, SEWER AND GARBAGE HAVE INCREASED AND CONTINUE TO INCREASE. THE INSURANCE COMPANIES HAVE ALSO INCREASED RATES AND FEES. THE 'QUALITY OF LIFE' IS NO LONGER 'QUALITY.' IT MAKES ONE FEEL THAT WE WOULD BE BETTER OFF CONVERTING TO PROPANE OR BETTER YET, GAS GENERATORS FOR OUT HOMES. WITH THE RECESSION CAUSING PROBLEMS FOR THE CREDIT AND HOUSING INDUSTRY, US LOWLY CITIZENS, HAVE NO WAY TO SAVE ANY MONEY FOR A RAINY DAY. I UNDERSTAND THAT THINGS COST EVERYONE MORE, BUT AT WHAT COST? MANY TAX PAYERS LIVE PAY CHECK TO PAY CHECK, AND BARELY MAKE ENOUGH MONEY TO SAVE. WHILE WE ARE STRUGGLING, AVISTA UTILITIES CEO'S ARE TAKING HOME MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF DOLLARS EACH YEAR. IF AVISTA UTILITIES IS SO BAD OFF, THEY HOW ARE THE CEO'S RECEIVING THOSE LARGE PAYCHECKS. AND IF THE AVISTAUTILIITES COMPANY IS DOING SO WELL FOR THEIR EMPLOYEES, THEN WHY ARE THE CUSTOMERS HAVING TO PAY FOR INCREASED RATES. I THINK THAT AVISTA UTILITIES SHOULD BE TRYING TO FIND MORE WAYS TO SAVE THE CUSTOMERS MONEY, RATHER THAN TRYING TO ADD MORE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO LINE THE COPORATE OFFICER'S POCKETS. We realize that rate increases are necessary for maintenance and operations, however, a 16% increase in one year is excessive! Avista has just now decided that infrastructure that is over 79 years old needs updating?! In a time when fuel prices have skyrocketed and food prices are not far behind, Avista wants us to cough up another $399 plus per year to cover their nad timing? Oh,and by the way, our wages have not gone up this year. Perhaps Avista should step back and reconsider the amount of their rate increase. It seems to us that 16% is entirely too much!
