Dear Commissioners:
I would like to comment on the recent rate increase
requested by Avista Utilities.
Simply put, "please don t consider it". It seems every
year they are requesting an increase. Natural gas
prices just went down. Intermountain Gas just lowered
their rates as a result. Sure Avista does a 3 year
hedge, but if they are "guessing" wrong, then why
should we as customer pay for it?
For once, I would like to hear that Avista is not
giving bonus ' or cost of living increases to cover the
difference in the cost of natural gas prices. I don
get a cost of living increase every year, I don t getbonus' every year. Why should they? Maybe they should
look internally at cost savings, before pentalizing
the customer for their bad business management.
