WORKSHOP
On September 12, 2005, Avista Utilities (Avista, Company) filed its annual
Purchased Gas Cost Adjustment (PGA) Application with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission
(Commission) requesting authority to place new rate schedules in effect as of November 1 , 2005
that will increase its annualized revenues by $15.7 million (23.8%). The PGA mechanism is
used to adjust rates to reflect changes in the costs for the purchase of gas from wholesale
suppliers including transportation, storage, and other related costs of acquiring natural gas. The
Company contends that its earnings will not be increased as a result of the proposed changes in
prices and revenues. The Commission directed Staff to conduct a public workshop pursuant to
Commission Rule of Procedure 125, IDAPA 31.01.01.125.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOP
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that public workshop will convene
TUESDAY.. OCTOBER 11.. 2005.. AT 7:00 P.M. AT THE NORTH IDAHO COLLEGE
STUDENT UNION BUILDING.. DRIFTWOOD BAY ROOM.. 1000 WEST GARDEN
AVENUE.. COEUR D' ALENE.. IDAHO. The purpose of this workshop is for the Staff to
dispense information concerning A vista s Application and to receive written or oral comments
from the public prior to the Staff filing testimony or comments in this case.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that all workshops and hearings in this matter
will be held in facilities meeting the accessibility requirements of the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA). Persons needing the help of a sign language interpreter or other
assistance in order to participate in or to understand testimony and argument at a public hearing
may ask the Commission to provide a sign language interpreter or other assistance at the hearing.
The request for assistance must be received at least five (5) working days before the hearing by
