HomeMy WebLinkAbout20200911Intermountain Gas Press Release INT-G-20-05.pdf Case No. INT-G-20-05 Order No. 334776 Intermountain Gas files its annual Purchased Gas Cost Adjustment with Idaho Public Utilities Commission BOISE (Sept. 11, 2020) – Intermountain Gas Company has filed its annual Purchased Gas Cost Adjustment with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission requesting permission to increase rates for some customers and reduce rates for other customers for the period of October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021. The company proposes to increase the price of natural gas for residential customers by 3.6 percent, increase the price for general service customers by 4.29 percent, and increase the price for large volume customers by 5.10 percent. Intermountain Gas also proposes to decrease the price for transportation customers by 3.02 percent, decrease the price for T-4 demand charge customers by 1.02 percent and not change the prices for T-4 transportation customers. The proposed changes reflect: costs billed to the company from transportation providers, replacement of long-term segmented Northwest Pipeline LLC capacity received from third parties with firm Northwest Pipeline LLC capacity held directly by Intermountain Gas, an increase to the company’s weighted average cost of gas, an updated customer allocation of gas- related costs pursuant to Intermountain Gas’ purchased gas cost adjustment provision, the inclusion of temporary surcharges and credits for one year relating to natural gas purchases and interstate transportation costs from Intermountain’s deferred gas accounts, benefits generated from the company’s management of its storage and firm capacity rights on various pipeline systems, benefits associated with the sale of liquefied natural gas from the company’s facility in Nampa, a portion of the costs accrued related to the company’s latest general rate case and the recovery of deferred in-person customer payment fees.
