United Water seeks service territory expansion in east Boise
United Water Idaho is asking state regulators to approve two applications to extend
its service territory to include residential subdivisions east of Harris Ranch in east
Boise.
The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is taking comments on the requests through
Nov. 26.
United Water seeks to add Brighton Land Holdings with about 89 service
connections and the Eastvalley Subdivision with about 110 service connections. The
Boise-based water utility says it has the capability to provide the service without
the construction of special facilities beyond extending water mains.
The commission plans to handle this request in a modified procedure that uses
written comments rather than conducting a hearing, unless customer comments
can demonstrate a need for a public hearing.
Comments are accepted via e-mail by accessing the commission’s homepage at
www.puc.idaho.gov and clicking on "Case Comment or Question Form,” under the
“Consumers” heading. Fill in the case number (UWI-W-13-01 for Brighton Holdings
and -02 for Eastvalley) and enter your comments. Comments can also be mailed to
P.O. Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0074 or faxed to (208) 334-3762.
A full text of the commission’s order, along with other documents related to this
case, is available on the commission’s Web site. Click on “Open Cases” under the
“Water” heading and scroll down to the above case number.
