Idaho Power contract with Dynamis terminated
The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has approved a settlement that terminates a power
purchase agreement between Idaho Power Company and Dynamis Energy LLC.
In February 2012, the commission approved a sales agreement under which Dynamis would sell
the output of a 22-megawatt landfill waste-to-energy facility to Idaho Power. The facility was
to have been located at the Ada County landfill near Boise.
Under the settlement, Idaho Power retains an undisclosed portion of Dynamis’ security deposit
as damages while returning the balance to Dynamis. The settlement also resolves the matter
without litigation, the commission noted, conserving both time and expense.
The project was to have been online by Feb. 15, 2014.
