The Public Utilities Commission is proposing to promulgate a proposed rule that wo
incorporate by reference the 2007 Edition of the National Electrical Safety Code published by the
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The Commission indicates that major revisions
contained in the 2007 edition are steel pole grounding; moving line sag calculations to Section
, phasing out the alternative method for calculating load factors and strength factors, requiring
the same unifonn radial separation (twelve inches) for supply and communication cables from all
lines that transport flammable materials, requiring phase to phase cover up when guarding
against phase to phase contact and including minimum approach distance tables.
