This completely Dis-incentivizes people to reduce overall electric consumption, isn’t the goal to become more energy responsible? Why would anyone want to add energy star rated appliances, or better insulate their homes if they are going to have to pay more and not receive any savings electrically? I live in an apartment, and like many others who have small homes or apartments I don’t use much electricity, this new rate would double how much money the smaller homes/apartment dwellers would have to pay for electricity. It only makes sense to pay more for using more power? Increase the cost of a kwh if you need more income or to help with inflation, don’t increase the base charge to affect the lower income and less fortunate home owners! If we increase the cost per kwh it will only incentivize people to become more energy conscious, eliminating a lot of wasted power and allow more investment into energy efficient homes. " ------
