REQUESTING AUTHORIZATION TO TIPDATE TIIE WIND AI\[D SOLARINTEGRATION RATE FOR SMALL POWER GENERATION
FACILITIES; CASE NO. PAC-EAD{4.
On October 8,2020,Rocky Mountain Power, a division ofPacifiCorp (the "Company,)
requested authority to increase the wind and solar integration rate applicable to new power
purchase agreements (*PPA") between the Company and wind and solar qualiffing facilities
(*QFs").
TIIE APPLICATION
The Company requests authorization to increase the wind integration rate from $0.57
to $1.11 per megawatt-hour ("MWh") for windaowered QFs. Application at l. The Company
also requests authorization to increase the solar integration rate from $0.60 to $0.85 per MWh for
solar-powered QFs. Id. The Company states these amounts represent the integration costs of wind
and solar power to be applied against published avoided cost rates except in where the eF delivers
energy to the company on a firm hourly schedule as specified in a ppA.
STATF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Commission issue a Notice of Application and set a 2l-day
intervention deadline. Once the intervention deadline has passed, Staffwill informally confer with
the parties about further scheduling and will recommend a schedule to the Commission.
