Re:CASE NO. PAC-E.I9-05:
UPDATE TO PUBLISHED AVOIDED COST RATES TO REFLECT THE
UPDATED NATURAL GAS PRICE FORECAST OF THE U.S. ENERGY
TNFORMATION ADMINISTRATION ("EIA")
Mr. Edward Jewell;
Thank you for your email and worksheets dated April 12, 2019, with PacifiCorp's updated
Surrogate Avoided Resource ("SAR") rates. Pursuant to Order No. 32697, the final release of the
U.S. EIA's Annual Energy Outlook automatically triggers an update to the published avoided cost
rates under the SAR methodology. EIA issued a new natural gas price forecast for 2019 on
January 24,2019.
PacifiCorp has reviewed the calculation of the updated SAR published avoided cost rates with
EIA's 2019 natural gas forecast and the Federal/All State Combined Tax Rates. This letter
acknowledges that the updated SAR rates are accurate and pursuant to Order No. 32802 will
become effective June l, 2019.
Any informal inquiries should be directed to Ted Weston at (801) 220-2963.
Sincerely,
J,"^.*DVice
