RE: PACIFICORP'S 2OlT INTEGRATED RESOURCE PLA}[ UPDATE
Dear Ms. Hanian:
PacifiCorp dlblaPacific Power has traditionally targeted filing its Integrated Resource Plan (IRP)
Update within one year of filing its IRP. For several reasons, PacifiCorp plans to file its 2017 IRP
Update no later than May l, 201 8.
First, PacifiCorp has not yet received written acknowledgement orders or letters on the 2017 IRP
from state commissions in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, or Wyoming. If, in their orders and letters,
these state commissions request that PacifiCorp provide certain information in its IRP Update, the
additional time will allow PacifiCorp to address, or at least attempt to accommodate, such requests
depending on the date the commissions issue their respective orders and letters.
Second, PacifiCorp will use this opportunity and time to finalize the 2017 IRP Update for filing.
In addition to addressing any recommendations and requirements identified by state commissions
during the 2017 IRP acknowledgement and review process where possible, the IRP Update will
continue to provide: l) a description of the resource planning and procurement activities that
occurred since the 2017 IRP was filed;2) an updated load and resource balance;3) an updated
resource portfolio reflecting updates to load forecast, market prices and other model inputs; and 4)
any updates to the action plan, if needed.
Please feel free to direct any inquiries regarding this matter to Shay LaBray at (503) 813-6176 or
to Ted Weston at (801) 220-2963.
Sincerely,
Diane Hanian
