The application proposed two options; either pass this reduction back to customers as a small rate reduction, or keep rates where they are and use the $1.1 million to pay down a deferred amount owed to the company. Intervening parties met on October 19, 2016, and expressed their desire for a rate decrease. The company proposed to allocate the 0.4 percent decrease across all customer classes equally. If approved, this would be a decrease of approximately 27 cents per month for the average residential customer using 800 kilowatt-hours of electricity. The commission must approve the proposed changes before they can take effect.
