HomeMy WebLinkAbout19970627_2.docxMINUTES OF DECISION MEETING June 27, 1997 - 9:00 - a.m. In attendance were Commissioners Dennnis Hansen, Ralph Nelson and Marsha H. Smith and staff members Don Howell, Scott Woodbury, Weldon Stutzman, Bill Eastlake, Madonna Faunce and Rebecca Smith-Pitman. Also in attendance was Mike McGrath of Intermountain Gas Company. Items from the June 27, 1997 Agenda were discussed and acted upon as follows. Commission President Dennis S. Hansen called the meeting to order. 1.Scott Woodbury’s June 25, 1997 Decision Memorandum re: Case No. INT-G-97-3 Annual PGA Tracker $2.2 Million Requested Increase in Revenue Requirement. Scott Woodbury reviewed the matter as set out in the decision memorandum. Staff recommends approval. Commissioner Nelson after commenting that Mountain Fuel raised their prices twenty five percent because of their gas tracker, made a motion to approve Intermountain Gas Company’s requested increase. Commissioner Smith seconded the motion; it carried unanimously.   2.Weldon Stutzman’sJune 27, 1997 Decision Memorandum re: Case No. GNR-T-97-11 Proposed Adoption of the FCC E-Rate and Discount Matrix. Weldon Stutzman reviewed the matter as set out in the decision memorandum. Staff recommends the commission issue a final order to adopt the discount matrix. Commissioner Smith inquired as to what staff  response was to Mr. Ward’s letter. This question is in regards to correspondence dated June 25, 1997 from Mr. Conley Ward. Mr. Ward is an attorney with the law firm of GIVENS PURSLEY & HUNTLEY.    Mr. Ward recommended that the Order contain language to clarify that the discount matrix is being adopted only to insure that intrastate services are eligible for federal USF funding, not funding of intrastate services by the Idaho USF.   Staff indicated that they agreed completely with the clarification. Commissioner Smith recommended that the Order contain very clear language on this point to alleviate potential concerns by members of the industry. Commissioner Smith made a motion to approve  adoption of the FCC E-Rate and discount matrix with the stipulation that the Order include the before mentioned clarification. Commissioner Nelson seconded the motion, it carried unanimously.   Meeting was then adjourned. Dated at Boise, Idaho, this     day of July, 1997. Rebecca Smith-Pitman Commission Secretary
