Now it appears the federal government is requiring Idaho Power Co.to purchase solar and wind generated electricity from those producing it.Though we understand wind and solar generated electricity providers require a substantial amount of funding in order to construct and operate their systems,it should not be on the backs of Idaho’s customers to fund their facilities and operations.I’m sure all private businesses would enjoy a 20-year guarantee that someone will be purchasing their product. With the ever-changing face of technology in today’s world, another more efficient technology may be right around the corner. It is our opinion that these mandated contracts be in place for considerably less than twenty years. If the federal government wishes for the wind/solar power producers to be able to finance their capital and operations costs, they should provide the financing to make it happen. Thank you for your consideration.
