HomeMy WebLinkAbout20130625order_no_32838.pdfOffice of the Secretary Service Date June 25.2013 BEFORE THE IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION IN THE MATTER OF PACIFICORP DBA ) ROCKY MOUNTAIN POWER’S 2013 )CASE NO.PAC-E-13-05 INTEGRATED RESOURCE PLAN ) )ORDER NO.32838 ______________________________________________________________________________________ ) On April 30,2013.PacifiCorp dba Rocky Mountain Power (“Rocky Mountain”or “Company”)filed its 2013 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP)with the Commission pursuant to the Commission’s rules and in compliance with the biennial IRP filing requirements mandated in Order No.22299. Rocky Mountain serves approximately 70,000 customers in southeastern Idaho.The Company provides electric service to more than 1,000,000 customers in Utah,Wyoming and Idaho. On June 13.2013,the Commission granted intervention to the Idaho Conservation League (“ICL”)and the Snake River Alliance (“SRA”).See Order No.32827. MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF COMMENT PERIOD On June 24.2013,ICL filed a Motion for a 45-day extension of the comment period to allow the organization to undertake a more thorough review of the assumptions and analysis supporting the Company’s IRP Action Plan.ICL representative,Ben Otto,appeared before the Commission and stated that he made attempts to contact the Company prior to tiling the Motion with the Commission.Mr.Otto stated that he did not receive a clear response from the Company regarding the Motion.Commission Staff does not oppose ICL’s Motion. COMMISSION FINDINGS AND DECISION The Commission reviewed ICL’s Motion and finds that it is fair,just and reasonable to extend the established comment period.The Company’s IRP filing contains multiple volumes of detailed analysis and data.Therefore,the Commission finds that a reasonable extension is warranted in order to allow ICL the opportunity to thoroughly analyze the data and information contained in Rocky Mountain’s IRP filing.The current comment deadline of June 27,2013, shall be extended for a period of 42 days.1 A 45-day extension of the current comment period would place the comment deadline on a non-business day (Sunday,August 11,2013). ORDER NO.32838 ORDER IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the established comment deadline shall be extended for a period of 42 days,until August 8,2013.
