My husband and I are pinching our pennes in this tough economy. My job with a local school district was cut from the budget in May 2011 in compliance with State Superintendent Tom Lun's Students Come First Legislation, and with tht, my health insurance and benefits. I have been applying for other positions with no success. My husband works full time at a company with no opportty for advancement, and has been looking for a better job for several months. We purchased a modest home in May 2010 with mortgage payments we can easily afford. As per our annual account review, we will now have to pay $40 more every month on our mortgage due to an error in the calculation of our escrow. Withn the last year we have also seen an increase in our city utility bil of almost $10.00. It seems that we are met with unexpected rate increases around every comer with every service we are biled for. We have recently found out that we are expecting our first child in December. We have two cars (one inherited from my husband's family and one inherited from my family) that are each 16 years old and uneliable. We have been trying to save money to afford a new car (or at least a down payment on a new car) by the time our baby is born but we are finding that we have to cut into our savings regularly, even if only a few dollar at a time. I do not pretend to think this lettr will make a difference in the commission's review process. If you need to raise rates to meet the growing costs of Rocky Mountain Power, you will. Whle the proposed increase will only add around $6.00 to our curent average bil, every dollar counts. I just wanted to let you know what this increase wil mean to our growing family. Thank you for your consideration, Megan Busath
