Rocky Mountain Power requests
routine true-up of energy costs.
Estimated energy costs are just one component of
an electricity bilL. These costs are primarily the fuel
Rocky Mountain Power uses to generate electricity
and the electricity the company purchases from
other providers to serve customers. Energy costs
are routinely adjusted by Idaho electric utilities to
reflect the actual costs to serve customers. Rocky
Mountain Power has requested that the Idaho
Public Utilities Commission review an energy cost
true-up for Dec. 1, 2009 through Nov. 30, 2010.
Rocky Mountain Power keeps energy costs as low
as possible by analyzing the best mix of choices for
producing safe, reliable electricity. The energy cost
true-up ensures that customers pay only the actual
costs for the energy used to serve their homes and
businesses.

percent, or $11.0 milion
· Residential Customers - an increase of
6.1 percent for Schedule 1 and an increase

"Energy costs are a large portion of the cost of
providing electric servce to customers and tend
to vary more rapidly than other costs of servng
customers/' said Karen Gilmore, vice president of
Rocky Mountain Power. "These routine true-ups
allow the company to either collect rising costs or
credit declining costs back to customers in a timely
manner after review and approval by regulators. As
always, we encourage customers to take advantage
of energy savings programs and tips as well as
programs to even out fluctuations in monthly bils."
The Idaho Public Utilties Commission wil study
the company's request and must approve the
proposed changes before they can take effect. A
