HomeMy WebLinkAbout19970203_1.docxMINUTES OF DECISION MEETING FEBRUARY 3, 1997 - 1:30 P.M. In attendance at this time were Commissioners Ralph Nelson, Marsha H. Smith and Dennis Hansen. Also in attendance were staff members Don Howell, Bill Eastlake, Weldon Stutzman, Birdelle Brown, Ron Law, Stephanie Miller, Tonya Clark and Myrna Walters, and John Souba of U S West, Greg Harwood, Attorney at Law; Joe Miller, Attorney at Law and Conley Ward, Attorney at Law. Commission President Ralph Nelson called the meeting to order. Items from the February 3, 1997 Agenda were discussed and acted upon as follows. 1. Regulated Carrier Division Agenda dated February 3, 1997. Commissioner Hansen made a motion to approve Item 1 - Commissioner Smith seconded the motion; Commissioner Nelson concurred. 2. Weldon Stutzman’s January 29, 1997 Decision Memorandum re: Case No. GNR-T-97-1 Petition by Independent Telephone Companies for Adjustments in Depreciation Rates. Commissioner Smith made a motion to approve the application. Commissioner Hansen said as long as it is understood that it doesn’t impact any rate increase or service, don’t have a problem approving it. Commissioner Nelson said until it gets into a rate case, it wouldn’t have a negative effect on the customers, so he would also approve it. Granted. 3. Weldon Stutzman’s January 31, 1997 Decision Memorandum re: Case No. GST-T-96-1 Application by GST Idaho Lightwave, Inc. for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity. Commissioner Hansen made a motion to approve the application; seconded by Commissioner Smith; concurred to by Commissioner Nelson. 4. Brad Purdy’s January 29, 1997 Decision memorandum re: Case No. USW-T-97-1/CTC-T-97-1. Petition of Customers of Marsing to Include the Communities of Nampa and Melba within their Extended Area of Service. Commissioners approved staff recommendation. 5. Birdelle Brown’s January 30, 1997 Decision Memorandum re: U S West Advice 97-02-S to Provide EAS in the Magic Valley effective February 9, 1997. Approved. Meeting was then adjourned.
