On beha of Monsanto and indee al the ra payers of Rocky Mowita Power I add my protes to th wicaled
for and exorbitat incre in rates by Rocky Mowita.
Monsto is an esstial neighbor and paer to the dit ecnomic stilty of Idao. Indily, Monsto
provides jobs and stbilty worldwide thoug the viability of their Sod Sprgs prssing plant.
Monsto ha acmmodted rate incres over the pat few yea and it is clea tht in the pas they have not
objec to fai and equitale chaes support by reasnable cost. The cost of buidi a new power supply
line to Calorna is not a renale cost for Idaoan or Monsto to bear. Neither is it appropriate for Rocky
Mowita to ask the IPUC to essntially amend the te of a negotiat contrt between themlves and
Monsto, wher 95% of the power us by Monsto is on an interptible bais. '

I understand that the Power company would like a raise right now, so would I. We are in a
recession right now and we can't request a raise- -my husband i s hours have been cut back and
we are living on less and trying to make do. Asking for a rate increase cuts money out of my
budget that I don't have, I can't meet my obligations as it is. This is going to hurt a lot
of people not just me and my family but others as well. 14% is a huge rate increase, are
they going to lower it after the recession? Probably not and then what? I already have cut
my power usage--I hang laundry year around, we put in a wood stove, cut back on other
electronic devices--I really can't cut my power usage back any more without freezing or
sitting in the dark. Why is that the consumer is constantly being harassed for more money
why can't a utility say that they want to decrease my rates during this recession instead of
increasing them? This rate increase is just going to add to the problems of the recession,
way to go guys don't worry about the poor rural people they can just starve, take what little
I have to line your pockets instead of cutting back and making due like the rest of us have
too.
