I am thankful to have reliable electricity; however, I was stunned to learn that our electric company is requesting another rate increase. The fees that our family currently pays for electricity for our home, several rental properties, and agricultural hatchery are preposterously high, especially when compared to our other utilities of water and gas. We have spent the last year trying to reduce the amount of electricity we use (which was already minimal, in our estimation). If another rate increase were to be approved, it would have a negative impact on the way we do business with the communi ty, the amount of rent we charge our renters, and the quality of life here at home. Thank you for your time and reconsideration. You want us to conserve, and when we do conserve you don' t get enough money so you want to increase. In 2887 you took away you in creased our power because of the BPA. We had water ways to generate power. They said that they would look into trying to find a solution but they never did. I even wrote the the congrewss men and senate and they never helped either. I don i t think they ever tried. Now we have all these wind mills. Which generate alot of power. They would be payed off in notime. So basically the power is generated free. We can i t afford a pay increase for the power company. My husband has been out of a job for nearly three years. My insurance went up and the 2% increase has been gone. We can' t conserve anymore than we have. Maybe we should get our own wind mill or another way of generating power everyone. Then you could go out of business. Tht is to much to increase.
