Box 83720 Boise, Idao 83720-0074 iuw OCT 25 AM 8= 20 Attention: Jim Kipton Marha Smith Mack Redford P 1lC--£ -IO-O? Rocky Mounta Power Co. filed a rate increase case on May 28,2010 askig for signficant increases in the rates they chage for power. They sad we enjoy some of thelowest prices in the nation. Ths is not a valid rean for rasing the rates. Most wages in Idaho are not as high as in other placs in our countr. They want to bolster revenue and give their stockholders a higher retu on investments. Right now, unemployment is high and the economy is strgging. In Montplier, we have the or four homes on every block tht are for sae. They are not expensive houss. People have left their homes with the of hope of getting a job elsewhere or have combined famy households to share the bils. We have may retired people livig here who are strggling ficially. Because of the economy, retirement fuds are not able to give cost of living raises. Interest rates are low for those trng to live on investents. Food, clothg and gasoline prces have risen, basic wages have not. May companes ar having to fulough their workers for short periods of time to keep their employees workig. Ths is not the time to increase electrcity bils. All of us have to work together to do with less. Because of the way our homes are constcted and the appliances we use, we have to have electrcity. We can not choose who we buy our electrcity from as we do our clothes and food. I will not be able to attend the public heargs that have been scheduled to give testimony on the rate case. Please acept my letter. I'm sending a copy of it to my Senator, Robert Geddes in Soda Springs. Than you for your time.tJ~1(~ Verleen K. Toland 255 Wooawn Montpelier, il 83254
