During rough economic times is not a good time to increase electric rates. In Dayton natural
gas is not available so our alternative is the time of day program from Rocky Mountain Power.
The proposed rate hike of 19% for the time of day program is the highest of the proposed
hikes. We already struggle to meet the hourly requirements and without a price advantage it
will make it even harder. The time of day program was inspired to help ease peak demand
during the day and spread it out over the night time hours. This program makes good sense.
Keeping the off peak hour rates low will keep the program working the way it was intended to
work, and help home oweners in these rough economic times. I propose a rate hike of 0% for
homes- Time of day off peak rate.
