The rate increase proposed by RMP is unfair to the people of Bannock and Oneida County~
Especially unfair to those land owners who were forced to bear the burden of the Populas to
Terminal line and sub-station. Land values not to mention peaceful enjoyment of private land
have been forever diminished. The compensation (based on RMP' s appraisals) were a far cry
from fair in most cases. Now not only do they diminish our land values for the benefit of
power users to the south and west of Idaho, but they now want us to pay for the privlege of
having the lines and power station installed! How could anyone in their right mind call this
equitable?
The proposed rate increase as I understand it, will be very detrimental to the already
strapped budgets of the schools, County & City buildings, and Hospitals. The only way they
can raise the money needed for this increase is to raise taxes. Again, we do not benefit
from the power so why should we have to pay for it!
