Please describe your question or complaint briefly:
In yesterday's news paper toward the back of the paper, I saw an announcement that I' ve seen
a lOT of in the past year. That is that Utah Power wants another rate increase. You have had
MANY in the past few years, and my widow's income is being stretched already. I am on time of
day, which in some ways is inconvienient, but I am trying to save money, and noted that the
biggest increase would be for users like me. YOu are a monopoly, but you are also human. I
would plead that you follow the Golden Rule, (The one our founding fathers implanted in the
Constitution) which translated means that if you don't want someone doing something to you,
then don' t do it to them. We are already being taxed to the hilt. I guarantee that ,I
would/will use a lot more power if you don l t increase the rates AGAIN.
Thank you for reading this. I know a lOT of my friends feel the same as I do. Ruth M. Foster

Dear Consumers Division,6/3/10 ftECEIV E D
This is regard to the increase in rates that the Rocky Mountain .dl-1PM2=fli9
seeking.
My wife and I are retied on a snu income We do our best to ff
in every way we possibly can. Our home is all electic, which dosn't he1p ave
used up what litle savings we have to get a new roof and windows to help bring down
the costs of heating our house, along with burning wood in the wood stove. We spend a
lot of the summr cuttng up downed trees to supply us for the winter. At 68 and
climbing, this isn't gettng any easier. The power company keeps pushing us to save
energ. We are doing our very bes Now since they aren't making more mins for
their stockholders, they want to raise the rates To me, telling us to save on one hand
and raising the rates to get more profit is just puttng us more in debt, and them,
bigger houses and toys to play with at our exense. It is just not right.
We are on the Time of Use program, which they are seeking a 15.7 percent
increase, and the largest of the increases they are askingfor. Our program is nice, but
you can only do so much saving of electicit between 11 pm and 8 am unles you
stayed up aU night and slept during the da. We do aU the laundry on weekends, and
everyhing else we can manage to do to save on those two days. It's not eas, but we
have to keep our bill down so we are able to pay it
We are asking for your help in this matter so we can still afford to pay our bill if
you can keep their rates down to an afordale rat Maybe their stockholdrs and the
CEO can live on one less steak or exensiv toy to play with, which the rest of us have
leamed to do without
Thank you for your help. Have a nice da.
