ROCKY MOUNTAIN POWER,NOTICE OF WORKSHOP RESPONDENT. On November 13 , 2008 , the Commission issued a summons to Rocky Mountain Power in response to a formal complaint filed by Marian Mathewson against the Company policies regarding monthly facilities charges for its remote customers. Ms. Mathewson does not object to paying for the cost associated with constructing facilities to serve her remote location nor does she object to paying for her monthly energy consumption. On December 3, 2008 Rocky Mountain Power filed its answer. The Company requested dismissal of the complaint for failure to state a claim. Commission Staff filed comments on January 23 2009, confirming that the Company s estimate for Ms. Mathewson was consistent with their approved tariff. Consequently, Staff recommended that the Commission dismiss Ms. Mathewson s complaint. NOTICE OF WORKSHOP YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Commission shall convene a workshop on WEDNESDAY. FEBRUARY 25.2009. AT 1:00 P.M. IN THE COMMISSION HEARING ROOM. 472 WEST WASHINGTON STREET. BOISE. IDAHO The purpose of the workshop is to explore in greater detail the issues raised in Ms. Mathewson s complaint. Specifically, the Commission will consider whether a monthly facilities fee charged in perpetuity is unfair and/or punitive. The Commission is concerned with how the fee is calculated and whether the calculation is based on actual cost of service. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that all proceedings in this matter will be held in facilities meeting the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Persons needing the help of a sign language interpreter or other assistance in order to participate in or to understand testimony and argument at a public hearing may ask the Commission to NOTICE OF WORKSHOP provide a sign language interpreter or other assistance at the hearing.
