Settlement precludes need for general rate increase; seeks adjustment on certain rate schedules BOISE-In conjunction with settlements involving its larger Idaho customers, Utah Power has proposed adjustments to three specific rate schedules, eliminating the need for an increase in general rates for the majority of the company s customers in Idaho. The settlements, filed with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission June 21 , propose revisions to rate schedules 10 400 and 401 designed to recover a total of$8.25 million in additional annual revenue over current rates. The commission must approve the settlements and the proposed rate schedule revisions before they can take effect. The revenue change represents a total increase of 5.1 percent. Rate schedule 10 affects irrigation customers; schedules 400 and 401 are based on special contracts between Utah Power and two industrial customers, Monsanto and Nu-West, respectively. Copies of the filings will be available for public review during regular business hours at the commission offices in Boise and at the company s offices in Rexburg, Preston, Shelley and Montpelier. ###
