HomeMy WebLinkAbout20051207press release.htm ./120705_PACNuWest_files/filelist.xml IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION 9.35 pt 2 IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION Case No. PAC-E-05-11 December 7, 2005 Contact: Gene Fadness (208) 334-0339 Website: http://www.puc.idaho.gov/www.puc.idaho.gov     Utah Power proposes contract with Nu-West   PacifiCorp, which does business in southeastern Idaho as Utah Power, is seeking state approval to enter into a five-year sales agreement with Nu-West Industries, a phosphate fertilizer plant in Soda Springs.   The commission is taking comment on the proposed contract through Dec. 16. The current contract expires on Dec. 31.   The proposed agreement calls for Nu-West to pay Utah Power $23 per megawatt-hour from May to October and $19.22 per MWh from November to April. During light-load hours and holidays, the proposed rate is $17.33 per MWh year-round. The proposed customer charge is $282.89 per month.   The agreement also requires Nu-West rates or surcharges to be increased when the commission authorizes rate increases for other customers of Utah Power who are not contract customers.   Those wishing to submit comments must do so by no later than Dec. 16.
