P AC-OS- MOTION TO POSTPONE PRE FILE DATES FOR TESTIMONY AND TO SCHEDULE A SETTLEMENT CONFERENCE COMES NOW the Commission Staff, the Joint Applicants (MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company and PacifiCorp) and all the parties! to this case and respectfully request that the Commission postpone the Staff/Intervenor prefile date and the Applicant rebuttal prefile date so that the parties may engage in further settlement negotiations. As set out in greater detail below, the parties assert that there is good cause for postponing the prefile dates. The requested postponement will not affect the technical hearing in this proceeding scheduled for January 17- , 2006. MOTION In Order No. 29867 the Commission adopted a schedule to process this case. In particular, Staff and Intervenors were to prefile their direct testimony no later than December 6 2005 and the Applicants were to prefile their rebuttal testimony no later than January 6, 2006. Simplot Company, IBEW Local 57, Community Action Partnership Association of Idaho, Idaho Power Company, Idaho Irrigation Pumpers, and Monsanto. MOTION TO POSTPONE PREFILE DATES FOR TESTIMONY settlement discussions.Last week, the Applicants reached settlement with parties in the California and Utah proceedings. The parties in the Idaho proceeding believe that additional settlement negotiations may be fruitful. Consequently, the parties urge the Commission to suspend the December 6 and January 6 deadlines for filing testimony and schedule another settlement conference to be held in Boise on December 8 , 2005. To accommodate additional settlement negotiations, the parties request that the Commission reschedule the Staff/Intervenor testimony deadline for December , 2005 and the Applicants ' rebuttal testimony for January 9 , 2006. The postponement of the testimony deadlines will not cause the technical hearing (scheduled for January 17-18) to be delayed. A copy of this Motion was served upon all parties via electronic mail. Given the pending prefile date of December 6 and the fact that all parties support this Motion, Staff requests that the Commission act on this procedural motion on less than 14 days notice pursuant to Rule 256, IDAPA 31.01.01.256.03. PRA YER The Staff on behalf of the parties in this case respectfully requests that the Commission issue an Order postponing the December 6, 2005 and the January 6, 2006 prefile testimony dates and schedule an additional settlement conference for December 8, 2005.
