RE: IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION OF PACIFICORP FOR A DEFERRED ACCOUNTING ORDER. CASE NO. PAC-E-01-2.
On February 8, 2001, PacifiCorp filed its Application, pursuant to Idaho Code § 61-524, for a Deferred Accounting Order requesting Commission authorization to defer costs associated with its Trail Mountain Mine. Specifically, PacifiCorp seeks to defer approximately $27.1 million which reflects the Company’s unrecovered investment in the mine. The Company states that deferred accounting treatment is the appropriate, just and reasonable means of providing the Company an opportunity to seek recovery of the extraordinary mine closure costs incurred by the Company. PacifiCorp requests that the Commission process this case through the use of Modified Procedure under the Commission’s Rules. IDAPA 31.01.01.201-.204.
Staff recommends that the Commission use Modified Procedure to process this case and issue notice of this Application with deadline for interested parties to file comments.
