Case ID: LLL-U-23-14 Comment: "We installed a solar array in summer of 2021 to supplement our current and long-term future energy costs and to be good environmentally responsible cizens and ease the ever increasing demand on our already outdated and weak electrical grid. Privately owned homes only represents a litle over 1% of all solar generaon in Idaho - how can this be an issue for Idaho Power business? Don't let Idaho Power change the current credit rate/compensaon structure - If it is reduced, it would affect our monthly bill and more so, have a detrimental impact on the adopon of new solar systems on residenal roofs in Idaho. We need these types of alternave and sustainable sources of energy as the populaon of Idaho ever increases and taxes our electrical grid. Solar and wind are key power sources available to us and should be welcomed by Idaho Power, not seen as a competor. Don't let this type of "free" energy be sll-born in Idaho by a large energy company that simply needs to learn to embrace it and begin to work along with it - it only makes sense and benefits all of us in the long run. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following comment was submited via PUCWeb: Name: Richard Williams Submission Time: Oct 24 2023 8:23AM Email: r.c.williams@gmail.com Telephone: 208-899-2016 Address: 2422 n turnberry way Meridian, ID 83645 Name of Ulity Company: Idaho Power Case ID: IOC-E-23-15 Comment: "I find this proposal to be counter intui e, the way our economy is and the push to green energy. The solar generatord should not be given a basic rate incresse. Every ulity I have ever used has taken a reading at the end of the billing period. This concept of charging as you go is completely unprecedented. The net per month metering seems like an honest atempt to capture customer use and charge accordingly. I’d like the opon to sell my excess power to other buyers on the grid the same as Idaho Power. Their proposal diminishes the value of the electricity I put out to the grid (neighbors). I don’t understand why the power company doesn’t give customers incenves to reduce our carbon footprint. It certainly is unfair to current solar customers to change the rules and backdate that change to 2019. All current solar customers should be allowed connue the previous billing arrangement. We made a large investment in solar and had no idea that the rules could change like this." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----Original Message----- From: margit Donhowe <margit.boise@gmail.com> Sent: Thursday, October 26, 2023 2:52 PM To: Jan Noriyuki <jan.noriyuki@puc.idaho.gov> Subject: Case IPC-E-23-14 I am very disappointed in Idaho Power’s proposal to devalue homeowner owned solar power and urge you to reject their proposal. Independent analysis reveals markedly different values for the benefits that Idaho Power gives to the electricity produced by ratepayers. Idaho Power’s study appears to have been reverse engineered to try to give values to get the results they wanted. A more independent study is needed. Addionally, this is an issue that affects many people from ratepayers to businesses that are in the green energy sector. Hearings are needed that give more advanced noce and that are in mes that allow 4 those who are working to atend. Your current mes shut out the vast majority of those who work, unless they are fortunate enough to take me off from work. Public ulies, and the commission, need to have input from the public.
