Randolph Drive Boise, ID 83709 Name of Ulity Company: Idaho Power Case ID: IPC-E-23-14 Comment: "Distributed power generaon provides Idaho with the opportunity to avoid the cost of building new generaon while decreasing polluon. Residenal customers that invest in rooop solar provide both Idaho Power and the state of Idaho with a valuable resource. Idaho Power gets added value from these electrons in lower peak demand, less transmission loss and lower overall costs. Customers that invest in solar power should be fairly compensated for the value they bring to Idaho Power. Idaho Power's proposal seeks to punish residenal solar to choke it so they can control all of the electricity generaon in Idaho. In their effort to enrich their company they've lost sight of their mission to actually serve the public. This is the deal they signed into in becoming a regulated ulity with a guaranteed rate of return. Since residenal solar uses the power grid they should be allocated some cost for that. But the value of their power generaon should be compensated for the value it bring to them but most to the state of Idaho. Our state benefits greatly from rooop solar. And the PUC should be encouraging it's expansion to lower overall costs, polluon and greenhouse gas emissions. Please deny Idaho Power's request and work with all pares to develop a reasonable cost sharing arrangement for use of transmission facilies. Thank you." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
