Comment: "Seems like with this change, it won’t make financial sense for people to install solar
anymore. (My install barely made sense under current net metering). Since I believe going green is one
of Idaho Power and the IPUC’s goals, how is IPUC going to incen�vize people to install solar a�er this
change is made? Addi�onal tax rebates like other states have done?

I also think that anyone with solar currently installed should be grandfathered in, since we made a large
financial decision to help our environment and state based on current standards.

Comment: "1) I recognize that Idaho Power must make a profit. That said, this proposal will discourage
people from installing solar – something we certainly need. As tax credits are decreased or eliminated,
people will pay even more aten�on to this issue.

2) The en�re point of installing solar is to generate most enough energy to cover all of your energy needs
for the year. If we are not permited to build up energy credits in the summer, then we will s�ll end up
with a significant bill in the winter. Therefore we should con�nue to be able to build up enough credits
to cover our en�re bill.

3) Regarding energy produc�on that exceeds this level, we should be paid a fair price for it. I believe that
rather than a set price, we should be paid a percentage of the retail price we would have paid if we
consumed that same energy from the grid."

Comment: "We have just received no�ce from Idaho Power regarding changes to the on-site genera�on
compensa�on structure and would like to express our concern over approval of the proposed revisions.
In essence Idaho Power is reques�ng to reimburse us less for our Solar genera�on system while
benefi�ng from us using less power each month allowing them to provider power to the community at
lower rates. We have taken on the burden of cost for solar for several reasons, mainly to help be more
environmentally aware and decrease our carbon footprint while u�lizing a ready resource. We are
helping Idaho Power keep costs down by installing solar. We do not agree with a payment structure that
decreases our reimbursement for power that Idaho Power is ge�ng without cost to them as we have
taken on that burden.

Comment: "I find this case to be very unfair for people who generate their own power. You want to
punish people for genera�ng their own energy. With the new structure it will take us 3 �mes longer to
pay off our new system. How does this proposed change benefit us? These changes appear very one-
sided, only benefi�ng the u�li�es. Solar will be the generators and distributors, and IPU will be the
money collectors. Seems like a prety crooked system to me."
