NEWS RELEASE: Customers hearings scheduled on Idaho Power application to change rates. BOISE (Nov. 16, 2023) – The Idaho Public Utilities Commission will hold customer hearings in Twin Falls and Boise to take testimony on an application from Idaho Power to increase the rates
and charges for electric service to customers. If a proposed settlement is approved by the commission, the utility would be allowed to increase overall retail revenue by $54.7 million annually. In its initial application, the utility asked for a retail revenue increase of $111.3 million.
The average residential customer using 950 kilowatt hours per month would see their monthly bill increase by about $4.44 if the commission approves the settlement. In addition, the fixed service charge for residential customers would increase from $5 to $10 in 2024 and from $10 to $15 in 2025.
The customer hearing in Twin Falls will be held Monday, Nov. 27, at the American Legion Post 7 Building, 447 Seastrom Street, Twin Falls, ID, 83301. It will begin at 5:00 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m. or after all testimony has been taken, whichever comes first. In-person attendance is required to submit testimony. over the phone. The hearing in Boise will be held Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, 11331 W. Chinden Boulevard, Building 8, Suite 201-A, Boise, ID, 83714. It will begin at 3:00
p.m. and conclude at 6:00 p.m. or after all customer testimony has been taken, whichever comes
first. In-person attendance is required to submit testimony. Those interested in listening to the hearing can call 1-415-655-0001 and enter meeting number 2634 629 2666 when prompted. Testimony will not be taken over the phone.
The commission is accepting written comments on the proposed settlement until Nov. 28, 2023.
