Re: Case No. IPC-E-22-30
Application of Idaho Power Company for Authority to Establish Compensation for the
Mandatory Interruption Requirement of Schedule 20 - Speculative High-Density Load
Dear Ms. Noriyuki:
I am writing regarding the Company’s proposed timeline for processing this case as set forth in
its Application filed on December 28, 2022. As a reminder, the Company asked that the case be
processed under modified procedure and respectfully requested that an order be issued prior to the
start of the June 15 – September 15 interruption season.
Now that the intervention period set in Order No. 35666 has expired with no party intervening,
we are reviewing the case schedule moving forward and proposing to extend the timeline for processing
this case. More specifically, the Company no longer seeks to have an order in place prior to June 15
and instead believes a more protracted schedule is appropriate based on the following:
The lack of intervenors in this case;
The lack of customers currently taking service under Schedule 20;
The significant lead-time associated with interconnecting a new primary service level account for
which service under Schedule 20 may be contemplated (meaning it would likely be at least a year
before a new customer would be in a position to take service under Schedule 20); and
Demanding workload for Commission Staff and the Company associated with upcoming annual
spring regulatory and other filings.
Given that there would be no one adversely impacted by delaying the resolution of this case, the
Company believes it would be beneficial to do so. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Sincerely,
Megan Goicoechea Allen
