Gas prices are extremely volatile and gas still produces carbon emissions. Let’s get to 100% renewable solar and wind as soon as possible!" ------ From:Kathryn Anderson (kathryn.anderson1965@gmail.com) Sent You a Personal Message To:Jan Noriyuki Subject:IPC-E-21-43 Idaho Power IRP Public Comment Date:Monday, May 30, 2022 2:23:14 PM Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission, I was very glad to see Idaho Power's recent Integrated Resource Plan include exiting all coal plants by 2028 and developing significant amounts of new clean energy resources like wind and solar. This is critical for our climate and our economy. As someone worried about the impacts of the fossil fuel industry on our climate, air, water, and local communities, I urge you to direct Idaho Power to now make similar plans to transition away from fossil gas as soon as possible. It is dirty, dangerous, and economically risky. I also urge you to direct Idaho Power to include local, customer-owned resources?(such as rooftop or community solar) in its Integrated Resource Plans. ?More and more, customers are pursuing their right to meet their own energy needs with integrated on-site energy systems. ?Idaho Power should be taking this into consideration during its Planning process, including the measurable benefits customers across its system can gain from those local resources. We suffer from a warming climate here, drought, fires, smoke. We need to leave a better legacy for our children than a failing planet. Battery storage is being used and is improving. Solar and wind costs have dropped. I do no think it is a good move to transition the Bridger power plant to natural gas even for a little while. Lets get moving towards clean energy as soon as possible. Thank you, nate scales" ------
