We are a company that utilizes waste heat from computing processes for cryptomining and other energy-intensive calculations and data server requirements. We understand and support the practice of curtailing, this applies to cryptomining facilities across the world, however the terms of Schedule 20 would be cost-prohibitive to our business model. We would have to maintain at least some level of minimal operations to keep our greenhouse facilities heated and cooled all year round. Additionally, the cost/ kWh information we were receiving did not seem fair to all market sectors. If we are installing our technology on an agricultural industrial site, why should we be charged more than that facility is currently paying for their power purchase agreement? In our opinion, it should not matter what the energy is used for beyond the meter. We truly do want to bring our business to Idaho to grow the economy here and create new jobs. Three of our four partners are Idaho natives and we have a strong love and affinity for our state and we just want the opportunity to bring something new and exciting to share and grow for everyone. We want to be good neighbors, we want to invest in building up the grid and improving our state but the current attitudes towards our business have been counter-productive to our business development efforts here and we respectfully request that you reconsider how we can all work together," ------ From:PUCWeb Notification To:Jan Noriyuki Subject:Notice: A comment was submitted to PUCWeb Date:Wednesday, July 20, 2022 3:00:06 PM The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Stegen Phillips Submission Time: Jul 20 2022 2:23PMEmail: stregen@bitmanfarm.com Telephone: 208-647-0006Address: 2159 OVERLAND AVE Burley, ID 83318 Name of Utility Company: Idaho Power Case ID: IPC-E-21-37 Comment: "In regards to Bitcoin Mining, or Crypto Mining as a whole, we are a large Crypto operation in Idaho and Currently provide 10+ jobs not including the journeyman electricians, lineman, contractors etc. with work. We are still expanding and will continue to add jobs. We are also looking at greenhouses that will substantially add more jobs and use energy that is created from miners to grow food 24/7. Just wanted to add comments to Mr Jay Jorgensen and trying to pursue creating jobs and food. We are not currently using Idaho Power but would be interested in working with them also in the future." ------
