Why would ALL Blaine County residents be asked to pay for underground lines that will run in the north valley exclusively. If ID Power wishes to build redundant lines, they should be ENTIRELY underground. That is something that I would consider paying for as a Blaine County resident. It is ridiculous to ask all of Blaine County to pay for underground lines that would run exclusively from St Luke's to the Ketchum substation. The benefit from this project is minimal and only goes to a very small number of residents. The extra costs would be a burden placed upon everyone. The surcharge for us would be approx $40 per year. We are unwilling to pay this sum because a very small number of home owners want an underground line near them. Since the benefit is only for a few, the costs should be born entirely by them. Unfortunately a very small number of agitators in the area have been lobbying for this. Surprise: they are the people who would benefit. NOT the rest of us. Please abandon this ill conceived idea." ------ From:PUC Consumer Comments To:Jan Noriyuki Subject:Notice: A comment was submitted to PUCWeb Date:Tuesday, August 24, 2021 12:00:07 PM The following comments were submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Christian Jensen Submission Time: Aug 24 2021 11:30AMEmail: cjmoguls1@gmail.com Telephone: 801-940-1447Address: 3670 Ranch Rd Sun Valley, Id 83353 Name of Utility Company: Idaho Power Case ID: IPC-E-21-25 Comment: "We are in agreement with undergrounding the new and existing power lines in the Wood River Valley. The community needs a reliable power source in the age of changing and extreme weather. If you have ever experienced a lengthy power outage, I can assure you it is far more costly than the small monthly fee being proposed. All residents of the valley would benefit. The lines are an eyesore and the economy in the Wood River Valley depends on it's pristine and natural beauty. This is an opportunity. Respectfully, Chris Jensen" ------ Name: Patricia Mattias Submission Time: Aug 24 2021 11:16AMEmail: mambasv@outlook.com Telephone: 208-720-5591Address: PO Box 1733 Hailey, ID 83333 Name of Utility Company: Idaho Power Case ID: IPC-E-21-25 Comment: "I object to further burdening the public with undergrounding power supply to WRV. According to information on the flyer provided by Idaho Power, an residential fee increase of $3.42 monthly would amount to $820.80 over a 20 year period. Even that amount is not guaranteed. It is not fair to expect the public to fund improvements to Idaho Power. Thank you, P.V. Amber Mattias" ------
