Comment: "I urge the PUC to reject the terms of Idaho Powers proposed study and instead have the study surrounding the cost benefit analysis of solar be conducted by an independent
and neutral third party. It is important that this study value the environmental, quality of life, economic, and grid stabilization benefits of solar production. If this does not occur the PUC
with essentially be endorsing Idaho Power's move to de-incentivize renewable energy, which would have devastating effects for generations to come. Over the past few years, we have seen
the impacts of climate change come to fruition. The PUC has a moral obligation to take into account how the type of energy production can lead to or mitigate climate change and how
climate change impacts the quality of life of Idahoans and the ecosystems present in Idaho. Additionally, I urge the PUC to use the numerous studies previously conducted on the topic of
the value of distributed generation as the starting point for this study. When the wide array of benefits of distributed solar are fully taken into account, often the result is that electricity
produced by solar is more valuable than other types of energy due to the environmental benefits of solar production. These previous studies can act as a guide for producing a through,
fair, and balanced study in this current case. Finally, the PUC should restrict Idaho Power for implementing other rules that, while not impacting the rate of return, would dissuade
individuals from pursuing solar generation. This includes, but is not limited to, having credits expire or making transferring credits more difficult. Thank you for considering the publics
comments and concerns as a part of the decision-making process. "

Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission Commission Secretary,
With the huge amount of people moving into the valley, I think residential solar is starting to
make sense. If I can produce power at peak use times it essentially takes my demand off of thegrid. Idaho Power has a program that pays people to be able to shut off their AC at peak
demand times. Why wouldn’t they want me to produce power, especially during those times.In fact, I think if Idaho Power was forward thinking, they would offer incentives to have
residential customers have batteries installed to help further offset power demand. Solar is animportant player in Idaho’s clean energy future! I want the Idaho Power solar valuation study
to identify how I can participate in the rooftop solar program. Local, clean energy benefits usall and plays an important role in working towards a clean energy future.

own solar power. This will help decentralize our grid, help us move away from fossil fuels, and give us more
flexibility in deciding the future of our hydro power dams in the State. It would be wonderful to get our rivers back
to more natural water flows for the health of the environment.

Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission,
Idaho Power should welcome everyone who endeavors to produce rooftop solar energy to the grid. Home generated
power is a great local source of clean energy as opposed to importing gas and coal fired electricity from out of
State. The cost of supplying electrical grid access to these customers must be very minimal compared to the overall
cost of maintaining the grid and perhaps would be more equitably served with a ?small annual fee ($10 or so)

Add my name the list of people requesting that the current and future net metering rate for
residential solar installations remains the same. The power grid is much more stable as moreof us install solar panels. Your customers are increasingly becoming your stakeholders, and
that's a good thing for everyone, including those who haven't yet added solar generation totheir properties' value. As a public utility, your company's bottom line is only a consideration,

Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission,
We purchased solar on our home in 2017. It was neither a quick or easy decision to come to, as the cost for solar is
very expensive. We paid $34K for solar for two very important reasons: 1) Helping the environment is important to
us. But having solar installed, we are helping to cut down on greenhouse gas emissions, and lower dependence on
fossil fuels, and 2) We wanted to lower our monthly electric bill and help to lighten the electrical load in the area
we live during times of extreme heat.
I firmly believe that individual solar panels need to be made available for all homes in Southern Idaho and at a price
that is manageable for all individuals.
I petition all who read this to think about what the future will be like for our children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren if we don't take steps now to protect the planet we live on. It's imperative that consideration is made r
the environment NOW, and not only for fiscal gains.
