SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF THE PETITION OF COMMISSION STAFF TO
UPDATE INPUTS TO THE COLSTRIP METHOD; CASE NOS. AVU-E-21-
05 and IPC-E-21-14.
On May 13, 2021, Commission Staff filed a Petition requesting a Commission Order
implementing the annual update to the Colstrip-related adjustable portion of the published avoided
cost rates for certain Qualifying Facilities under the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978.
The annual update to the Colstrip Method is scheduled to take effect on July 1.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Commission issue a Notice of Petition and Notice of Modified
Procedure, with comments due twenty-one (21) days from the issuance of the Notice and reply
comments due seven (7) days later.
COMMISSION DECISION
Does the Commission wish to issue a Notice of Petition and Notice of Modified
Procedure that establishes a twenty-one (21) day comment period and a seven (7) day reply period?
